Sixth Annual Vanessa Grace Garr Memorial Golf Outing Announced
The 6th Annual Vanessa Grace Garr Memorial Golf Outing will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Links of Novi in Novi, MI.
This day long event features Lunch, 18 Holes of Golf with a cart, succulent steak dinner, exciting live and silent auctions and a chance to win $100,000.00 with one swing of your club.
In 2002 my wife and I put this outing together after we lost our beautiful daughter, Vanessa Grace, to complications of Cerebral Palsy. She was two years old when she passed but taught us so much in that short period of time. We could not just stand by and watch other children, and their families struggle with what we had to go through. It was at that time that we established the outing and we have been having fun with it every year while raising needed funds for kids that cannot do it on their own.

Over the past five years, this event has raised over $150,000 for disabled childrens charities in the Metro Detroit area and continues to be one of the major fundraisers for the Program For Exceptional Families.
The Program For Exceptional Families provides necessary therapies and counseling for families of children with very special needs. They do not cater to one form of disability, but open their arms, and their facility, to anyone dealing with handicaps. The program is completely philanthropically funded and counts on functions such as this outing for its resources.
